University Assistent
Christoph Stein is a University Assistant at the Department of Business Informatics – Software Engineering at the Johannes Kepler University in Linz.
From 2016 to 2021, he earned his bachelor degree in Industrial Engineering and Management at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology in Karlsruhe (KIT) with a practical focus on web development and Natural Language Processing (NLP). Parallel to his studies, he co-founded the startup Patena as the Chief Technology Officer, where he was responsible for the development of a cloud-based web app geared towards the research and analysis of patents. After closing the company, Christoph returned to the KIT and finished his master studies in 2024.
Currently, his research interests center around the application of search heuristics (genetic algorithms, particle swarm optimization, …) to the problem of quantum algorithm development. He is the main contributor on essentials-of-quantum.com and has a list of his publications available at ORCiD.org.
